Want to Break Demonic Attacks? Hereʼs Why Fasting & Prayer WORKS!

Have you ever felt like no matter how hard you try, something keeps pushing back—against your peace, your progress, even your spiritual growth?

You pray. You try to stay strong. But the pressure doesn’t seem to break.

Here’s the truth: many Christians stay stuck not because they lack desire—but because they’re fighting their battles the wrong way.

The enemy may not be able to steal your salvation, but he absolutely wants to attack your mind, weaken your flesh, and build strongholds in your life. The good news? Jesus gave you every tool you need to walk in total victory.

And one of the most powerful weapons He gave us? Fasting and prayer.

Why the Enemy Targets Your Mind and Flesh

We are three-part beings—spirit, soul, and body. When you got saved, your spirit was made brand new. But the enemy doesn’t stop there. He targets the parts of you he can still access—your mind (soul) and your body (flesh).

That’s why believers often wrestle with:

  • Mental oppression
  • Anxiety and fear
  • Constant temptation
  • Compulsive habits
  • Lack of spiritual power

But you don’t have to stay stuck. The victory is already yours through Christ—you just have to enforce it.

Fasting Subdues the Flesh and Unlocks Authority

Fasting isn’t about starvation—it’s about subduing the flesh so your spirit can take the lead.

Paul said in 1 Corinthians 9:27, “I discipline my body and keep it under control, lest after preaching to others I myself should be disqualified.”

When you fast, the cravings and distractions that used to control you begin to weaken. The temptation that once ruled you loses its grip. Why? Because your spirit is getting stronger—and your flesh is getting quiet.

Jesus put it this way in Matthew 26:41: “The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

For many believers, the problem isn’t that they don’t want to serve God—the problem is that their flesh is too loud. Fasting silences the flesh and allows your spirit to rise.

Break Demonic Strongholds in the Mind

Most spiritual attacks start in the mind. That’s why Romans 12:2 urges us to “Be transformed by the renewal of your mind.”

Without renewing your mind with the Word of God, you’ll be conformed to a world system that’s demonically influenced. But through prayer and Scripture, you can demolish every lie the enemy has tried to build.

When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He didn’t negotiate with the devil—He declared the Word. And you can do the same.

Why Some Breakthroughs Only Come by Fasting

In Mark 9:29, when the disciples failed to cast out a demon, Jesus told them: “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting.”

Let that sink in. Some strongholds require a higher level of power to break. And that power is only accessed through fasting and prayer.

Too many believers are facing high-level demonic resistance with low-level dedication. But when you step into a lifestyle of consecration, fasting, and prayer—you don’t just fight back—you enforce your victory.

What Happens When You Fast and Pray?

When you engage in biblical fasting and prayer, you:

  • Tear down mental strongholds
  • Silence your flesh and close enemy access points
  • Strengthen your spirit to resist temptation
  • Activate supernatural authority and breakthrough

Ephesians 4:27 says, “Give no place to the devil.”

That means you have the power to slam the door shut on every attack. But it takes more than a prayer once a week—it takes spiritual discipline.

Ready to Walk in Authority?

Don’t just live under attack. Rise up and use what Jesus gave you. Through fasting, prayer, and consecration, you can cast out oppression, destroy strongholds, and release the power of God in your life.

You’re not fighting for victory—you’re enforcing it.
